I led a cash flow management project that identified vendor payment terms across four business units that could be shifted to extended payments cycles or early-payment discount terms. This work involved auditing ERP data against vendor invoices, uncovering discrepancies, and recommending changes to strengthen negotiation power with vendors. I also streamlined GRIR account reconciliation by diagnosing open PO/return issues, including incomplete offsets, missing invoices, and quantity variances. I implemented targeted solutions to reduce backlog and enhance data accuracy, while also developing Excel macros that increased processing efficiency 12x. In addition to project work, I engaged with senior leadership and top sales managers through small-group sessions, asking targeted questions to gain insight on strategic decision-making, career development, and cross-functional alignment. These conversations deepened my understanding of the business and strengthen my professional skills. The internship concluded with me presenting my projects to senior leadership, which led to an invitation to continue working during the school year. A new ongoing project will combine finance and sales data to provide greater negotiation leverage with customers and vendors. This experience sharpened my skills in financial analysis, process improvement, and executive communication, while reinforcing my ability to deliver measurable business value.
I streamlined the receiving and invoicing process by implementing a new tracking system, cutting process time from 20+ hours to just 2 hours, improving record accuracy, and saving the team time. In dispatch, I monitored delivery schedules and enforced adherence to company standards, maintaining accountability for both efficiency and accuracy. I analyzed phone pickup time data to evaluate service responsiveness, comparing the impact of retaining an on-site receptionist versus routing calls to the parent company. My findings led to data-driven recommendations for improving customer interaction flow. Additionally, I evaluated customer wait times and service efficiency, presenting insights and proposals to the company President, Operations Manager, and HR Manager. These recommendations focused on reducing bottlenecks and enhancing the customer experience. Through this role, I strengthened skills in process optimization, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, while gaining experience in presenting actionable solutions to senior leadership.
Facilitated collaborative drills for youth athletes with diverse needs, fostering a supportive environment that emphasizes teamwork and social-emotional learning. Coordinated with a team of coaches to design inclusive practice plans that ensured every participant, regardless of ability, remained engaged and motivated. Cultivated a culture of inclusivity and belonging, resulting in increased confidence and improved motor skills for participants within the First Pick Sports program.
