CORU Registered Senior Occupational Therapist with the Specialist Seating Service in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. My experience spans a wide variety of clinical areas across 3 healthcare systems (UK, Canada & Ireland) - Inpatient Neurorehabilitation - Hyper-acute Stroke Assessment and Rehabilitation - Specialist Seating Service - Paediatrics - Community/Domiciliary - Acute Hospital - Emergency Department Successfully completed the Canadian National Occupational Therapy Certification Examination (NOTCE) in April 2024. Assess and make recommendations regarding pressure cushions. - Make recommendations re equipment. - Compete MEPP equipment orders, Co-ordinate delivery or collection of orders. - Complete Basic Wheelchair Forms. - Support re private purchase of equipment. - Adhere to college and regulatory body standards and clinical guidelines. - Assigning tasks and clinical direction to Rehabilitation Assistants through Transfer of Function documentation and verbal handovers. Monitoring treatment and modifying as appropriate. - Attend and participate in professional practice forums and in-services.
Accepted role with Calrudd Construction Ltd while awaiting accreditation of my qualification during the interim period of the SEAS process and prior to registration with COTBC. - Measure and cut materials according to specifications. - Assemble and install wooden structures, cabinets, or fixtures. - Aid in the installation of doors, windows, and trim. - Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment. - Assist with the interpretation and execution of construction plans. - Handle basic carpentry tasks under supervision. - Ensure worksite safety and cleanliness. - Collaborate with the team to meet project deadlines. - Learn and develop carpentry skills through on-the-job training. - Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials. - Assist in demolition and removal of old structures or fixtures. - Clean and prepare work areas before and after construction. - Load and unload construction materials and tools. - Operate basic hand tools and equipment as needed. - Support various construction activities as directed by the team. - Handle debris removal and waste disposal. - Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment. - Provide assistance to different trades on the job site. - Adapt to various tasks and duties as required in the renovation process.
