Als Kunstmaler habe ich alle Freiheiten der Welt. Ich kann all meine Empfindungen in Form und Farbe ausleben und meine Seelenzustände sichtbar machen. Als Maler kann ich auch überall, an jedem Ort der Welt und zu jeder Zeit arbeiten. Kunst als höchste Form der Kommunikation hat den Auftrag den Menschen zu erreichen. Ich mache Kunst für den Alltag. Es ist mir wichtig, dass die Werke von mir beseelt sind, eine optimistische Strahlung haben: Glück, Gelassenheit, Genuss – eine positive Aura verbreiten – im besten Falle den Betrachter auffordern sich aktiv und kreativ an dem Prozess der Weltverbesserung zu beteiligen.

    • Founded the band Sprung aus den Wolken in 1980, becoming a central figure in Berlin’s experimental music scene. • Participated in the early-1980s Geniale Dilettanten movement, combining music, performance, and visual experimentation. • Began painting large, colorful murals on the West Berlin Wall in the mid-1980s, often collaborating with Thierry Noir. • Developed signature motifs such as heart-faces, crowned heads, and emblematic figures representing unity, empathy, and freedom. • Contributed music (including the track “Pas Attendre”) to Wim Wenders’ film Wings of Desire. • Continued creating and exhibiting visual art internationally after 1989, as segments of the Berlin Wall bearing his paintings were preserved and toured globally. • Had Berlin Wall artworks enter notable collections, including major museums. • Expanded artistic practice into painting, sculpture, installation, digital art, and public murals. • Lived and worked in several cities — including Amsterdam, London, Zurich, Bern, Los Angeles, and Munich — each influencing the evolution of his artistic language. • Participated in exhibitions and art projects worldwide, from Europe to Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. • Launched numerous wall-project murals internationally, translating Berlin Wall iconography into contemporary public art. • Engaged in art-education and community projects, including workshops for children and youth. • Collaborated with fashion designer Julia Starp in 2012 to create couture pieces made from his painted canvases. • Continues to produce socially aware, symbol-rich artwork focused on human connection, hope, and the interplay between freedom and responsibility.
