Having a key leadership role within high profile Global Business Technology initiatives, I continued to lead global business transformation programs across the Pfizer business units. Notable achievements: Storage Transformation - implementation, planning, analysis and move of core storage to a new utility storage model. I delivered the program through greater order and control, limiting business disruption, successfully completing within timelines and meeting projected savings. Project Horizon - taking a lead role in the vendor review and selection of Pfizer’s internal Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). One of two global program managers responsible for the consolidation of application infrastructure to the hosted VPC environment. This global program successfully migrated ~6000 servers, associated applications and ~1600 retirements, within budget and timelines, to met projected year-on-year savings. With the required technical knowledge, I was responsible for VPC infrastructure performance and improvement, workload balancing across the virtual environment and server/application ‘right-sizing’ to recapture utility OPex spend. Infrastructure On Demand (IoD) - having successfully implemented and leveraged an internal private cloud, the next phase in this evolutionary path was external cloud hosting. As a key member within the program management team, I lead the phased migration (test-development-production) activities to the external private cloud (EPC). I managed business expectations, planning, testing and execution in this high profile Business Technology initiative. I successfully delivered on a framework that changed how Business Technology utilised computing services, enabling an easy access to a variety of services with a balance of risk, capabilities and cost matched to specific workload requirements. I supported the creation of the APAC EPC, built the scope, timelines and successfully lead the transformation project to the external private cloud.

    • Data Centre Optimisation & Efficiency Lead, EMEA & APAC
      May 2010 - Mar 2013 · 2 yrs 11 mos

Following the merger of Pfizer and Wyeth, I moved to a lead role in Hosting and Connectivity Services within Business Technology Infrastructure. I led major strategic programs, including the data center consolidation of Pfizer’s 19 Data Centres to 4 within an 18 month duration. Partnering with strategic owners, consolidated and integrated legacy Wyeth manufacturing capabilities into the Pfizer organisation and successfully delivered $19M in savings. I successfully lead the closure and relocation of critical Data Centres, including operational readiness and migration execution to the Pfizer Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). A lead role in business transformation involved the continued development and improvement of program management methods, practices and processes.

    • Project Lead, Data Centre Consolidation EMEA
      Jan 2007 - May 2010 · 3 yrs 5 mos

As both a cost saving initiative and directive to improve quality of service, Business Technology created a global Data Centre Team to review, propose and consolidate at an application and infrastructure layer. With experience and knowledge gained, I was assigned the role to lead this effort in the EMEA region. With leadership support, lead the WAN design and investment approval for a 3 Data Centre design providing redundancy. Engaged across all levels of the organisation, reviewed opportunities, engaged vendors, planned and executed migration activities both at an application and infrastructure layer, centralising primary manufacturing (GxP) services into the core Data Centre. The scope was not limited to physical to virtual migrations but included the shipping of infrastructure successfully across borders. As new deployments were under review, I was engaged to support and ensure efficiencies, ensuring deployment inline with corporate standards and design.
