• End User Experience @ eBay: Leading the designing & development of new anti-fraud policies driven communication platform for buyers-sellers. Scales up to millions of API calls. Tech stack involves Java REST services API & Event driven systems, 3rd Party integrations, SQL & NOSQL databases. -> LnP of service & code optimizations to make it SLA friendly, -> Adding new features to the product, -> Led operational readiness initiative to ensure business critical service scalability & availability. -> Leading migration/redesigning efforts to move application to newer Kubernetes based infra. • Infra@eBay: Re Architected a python based legacy product to address chronic issues like platform dependencies, slow execution and high failure rate. -> In-place re architecting addressed all of above and showed error rate drop from 25% to 1% and -> Job duration improved by 80% by inculcating on-demand caching. -> Removed dependencies to make code portable even on containers and config driven. • Data Platform @ eBay: Designed & developed the enterprise platform to provide the real time & historical data as metrics to enable critical decisions and fraud detection, handled the 100K/sec scale using Java/J2EE, Spring, REST services, Apache FLINK, Couchbase.
* Security Platform @ Cloud: Designed & Developed distributed, federated, declarative, real time, dynamic, Kubernetes based security platform to address the security and access issues for all eBay applications with policy driven, transparent product. • Execution SLAs reduced to seconds from weeks, enforcement time reduced to milliseconds. • Enabled flat network for RNPCI/PCI Zones and new DC build out with fewer of physical firewalls needed. • Involved stack are - Kubernetes API Machinery/Deployment patterns, RESTful Web Services, Golang, Monitoring systems, Messaging queue systems, ETCD, GRPC. • Customer controllers to fetch real time topology data using pub/sub model over messaging queue. • Enabled distributed components to spin up as single product using automation for local & CI over kubernetes - later enabled this as PR process in our End-2-End CICD automation. • Enabled open source telemetry(prometheus, alertmanager, grafana & thanos) to manage the health of control plane. • Customized open source Kubernetes backend Key Value DB(stateful & consistent) - ETCD to have : - Self healing capability at node level with custom docker images, - Full backup support to Object Storage, - Auto defrag support to mitigate memory leaks, - One touch restore of whole cluster to make ETCD cluster resilient to multi AZ failure, - Tweaked config to support mutual TLS & geographic deployment handling 40K QPS at Linearize consistency with 5 node deployment. - Contributed in customization & deployment of Etcd operator to scale to multi-region with self- signed certs for mutual auth. • Wore different hats of Dev, QA & DevOPs. * Awarded as ‘Cultural Luminary Award for 2017’ for customer focus & culture. * Organized ‘OpenStack’ training @ eBay Cloud. * Organized eBay's first runner's club - which has completed 10+ half & full marathons.
