Graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy and M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Kentucky and is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. Long experience at hospital and long-term acute care settings in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dedicated most of her time in medical relief missions since 2011, to support the Syrian people affected by the crisis in Syria and Turkey. Assumed different leadership roles. A cofounder of Syrian American Foundation (SAF) and UOSSM USA, nonprofit 501(C)3 charitable organizations, and a Board Member at UOSSM-International. Served as the 1st Executive Director of Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations (UOSSM) in Turkey. Worked on the establishment of UOSSM office in Turkey, building the capacity of the staff, developing and strengthening relationships with partners and donors, directing the medical operations inside Syria, supervising the establishment of the post-op care center and mental health-psychosocial support center in Reyhanli in Turkey and the establishment of UOSSM Bab Al-AlHawa Hospital, which is considered the major emergency and specialty referral hospital in northern Syria. Earned a certification in Humanitarian Program Management (HPM) at Bioforce Institute in Lyon, France. Established and chaired UOSSM-International QA Board Committee for almost 2 years. Represented UOSSM-International at UN OCHA Pool Fund meetings in NY, Donors’ London Meeting Supporting Syria in Feb 2016, and European Humanitarian Roundtable (EHR)-East in Warsaw, as an expert at the Protection roundtable, providing recommendations towards the 2016 World Humanitarian Summit (WHS), and the 2016 WHS in Istanbul. In addition, with a special invitation by the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UN, represented UOSSM-International, at the Signing Ceremony between Mr. Stephen O’Brien, USG/ERC and the Qatar Development Fund in May 2016. Currently, serves as the President of UOSSM USA, and directs the affairs and programs of the Organization in the United States.
