Consulted for political and private-sector clients as a research and communications consultant, including writing research memos incorporating polling data & political science literature; contributing research to newsletters; designing digital graphics & print flyers; & strategizing social media content.
•Served as an assistant to a public opinion expert until his retirement. •Assisted in focus group research, including editing focus group outlines, analyzing focus group transcripts, assisting in focus group participant recruitment, and drafting research memos for high-level audiences based on the research results. •Co-authored a memo regarding the 2020 election. •Prepared presentations for speeches and speaking engagements; incorporated relevant national polling data into slides.
Each year, the foundation offers a two-year, full-time, paid fellowship to one individual who demonstrates an interest in philanthropy, public policy, community service and/or the nonprofit sector and has roots and/or a connection to the state of North Carolina. During my time as a Fellow, I: •Assisted senior program officers with reviewing grant applications, site-visits to non-profit organizations across NC, and writing grant recommendations to the board of trustees for their approval. •Reviewed and visited organizations across a variety of focus areas, including social justice, democracy, environment, public education, and community economic development. •Designed and led a learning tour of the northeastern region of North Carolina on behalf of the strategic planning learning agenda. •Managed NPIP (non-profit internship program) which aims to diversify the pipeline of nonprofit talent; expanded and grew the funding partners and number of internships available. •Assisted in the development of the inclusive public art project fund.
