My commitment to these causes stems from a core belief in balancing economic growth with environmental preservation. What drives me? A relentless curiosity and respect for our planet, combined with a desire to solve complex problems through research. My experience has taught me that understanding diverse cultures and ecosystems is crucial in addressing global challenges effectively. This understanding is not just academic for me; it is also a personal journey, as I am an avid hiker and explorer of traditional cultures. Professionally speaking, I bring a rich and varied background in the non-governmental sector. My career journey includes conducting pivotal research, spearheading grant-making initiatives, developing strategic online communications, and fostering collaborations with key partners across Asia. I have been fortunate to serve organizations like the Heinrich Boell Foundation, Oxfam, Greenpeace, International Rivers, Globalization Monitor, and Green Power. In these capacities, I have managed comprehensive projects that delve into the financing of agriculture, energy and infrastructure investments in Southeast Asia. My focus has always been on their social and environmental impacts, ensuring that development is just, equitable and sustainable. ✓ Managed, shaped, and delivered the Paris Watch research programme with great success, utilizing a city-to-city comparative approach to accelerate decarbonisation and advocate for a just transition in major Asian cities. This initiative aims to create a fair and equitable transition to a low-carbon economy that benefits all stakeholders. ✓ Developed and published a range of knowledge products, including comprehensive analyses and reports on the Paris Watch initiative, the Hong Kong Just Transition report, Climate Community Dialogue reports, an Evaluation of Hong Kong's Green Finance Policies and other international climate policies. These products serve to inform and inspire effective climate action, with a focus on advancing the principles of a just transition. ✓ Facilitated international exchanges with peer organizations to share best practices and knowledge on city-level climate advocacy and community-based climate programmes, thereby contributing to the advancement of global climate goals. ✓ Successfully managed and shaped a programme that fostered dialogue on key emerging trends in environmental technologies within Asia and between Europe and Asia, with a strong focus on promoting sustainability. ✓ Developed and published a range of high-quality knowledge products, including analyses, publications, data visualizations, and audio-visual materials, to promote understanding and awareness of emerging trends in environmental technologies. Notably, I led the successful delivery of the Plastic Atlas (Asia Edition) report, which provided crucial insights and guidance to stakeholders across the region. ✓ Facilitated productive exchanges and constructive dialogue on emerging trends in environmental technologies, synthesizing key learnings and insights to promote further analysis and deeper understanding of this critical issue.
✓ Planned, implemented, and oversaw the grants management process for development programs overseas, ensuring quarterly and annual compliance with donor requirements, as well as the timely disbursement of funds. ✓ Facilitated the review of grant project monitoring, evaluation, and learning, as well as the communication of grant results and impacts to Oxfam partners, both internally and externally, using a variety of communication tools and platforms. These impacts include enhanced natural resource management capacity, gender mainstreaming in development programs, education, and disaster risk reduction, with a particular emphasis on climate change adaptation and resilience in both rural and urban contexts. ✓ Managed a team of three staff responsible for grants management, review, and communications, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work. * Led the Oxfam Knowledge Hub team in driving programme results, including the delivery of knowledge products, community development projects, and exchanges and dialogues, focused on the social and environmental impacts of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from China and other emerging economies in the Asia region. * Developed and implemented a comprehensive strategy to promote knowledge-sharing and collaboration among stakeholders, including civil society organizations, government agencies, and private sector actors, to drive positive outcomes and mitigate negative social and environmental impacts of FDI. * Monitored and evaluated programme activities to ensure alignment with project goals and donor requirements, and provided regular reporting on progress and outcomes to programme stakeholders and donors.
* Fostered the results of Advocacy Programs on China's Outbound (Agricultural) Investments and its Corporate Social Responsibility Practices in Laos and Myanmar, driving positive outcomes and mitigating negative social and environmental impacts for local communities and stakeholders. * Managed research, publication, and advocacy programs through partnerships with key stakeholders, including government think tanks, academic institutions, and civil society organizations in Laos and Myanmar, to ensure high-quality work and maximum impact. * Built and facilitated multi-stakeholder dialogues among government officials, companies, and civil society organizations in Laos and Myanmar, leveraging partnerships and collaboration to drive positive change. * Developed and delivered knowledge products on agribusiness expansion in the Mekong region and southern Africa, working closely with academic institutions to promote understanding and awareness of emerging trends and issues. * Conducted stakeholder mapping and power analysis of the regulatory regime of agriculture FDI in Laos and Myanmar, providing critical insights and guidance to stakeholders and driving positive outcomes for local communities and stakeholders.
