Assist medical staff in providing care to pediatric patients in the emergency room. Duties include performing point-of-care testing, obtaining vital signs, assisting with procedures, maintaining patient records, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
Pioneered a peer mentorship program for students enrolled in the pre-medical designation. Recruited four high-achieving students to provide peer-advising for first- and second-year students who are interested in pursuing a career in the medical field.
Provide 1-on-1 academic support for students in 25 courses included biology, chemistry, physics, and writing. I work with students to develop strong study habits, active learning techniques, assignment action plans, and confidence in academic abilities.
Assist Quinnipiac’s Director of Pre-Health Advising in maintaining an online presence through the use of Blackboard and Instagram. I also contribute to office’s marketing and resource development.
Shadowed 25 physicians in one-day rotations to explore life in each particular field. Rotations included experience in the operating room, emergency department, hospital floors, physician offices, and meetings. I had the opportunity to interact on a personal basis with these health care professionals and their patients.
