I am an experienced project, implementation, and operations manager with a history of working for a large international technology company. Skilled in process improvement, project management, software configuration, technology implementation, cross-functional team leadership and vendor management. I am a strong technically minded professional with an in-depth knowledge of language technology and an international business degree (BA) from The Solent University. Reporting to the Head of Technical Production Processes, project managing the global implementation of SDL Trados Studio and SDL GroupShare, developing bespoke localisation processes (e.g. variants xml, html, office, variants from customer content management systems), leading training activities, interfacing with multiple account teams, acting as a link between production and software development departments, devising tool deployment strategies, providing user technical support. I was also heavily involved in the assessment of localisation tools such as MemoQ and XTM. Achievements: Successfully project managed the transition of multiple complex accounts to SDL Trados Studio with revenue value in excess of $4 million. Trained numerous teams in use of the SDL Trados Studio and during the initial phases was the primary port of call for complex support requests.
Managing the Xerox Translation, Terminology, Resourcing and Linguistic Recruitment teams. Managing a team of approximately 30 people with 3 team leaders. Tasks included financial reporting, statistical analysis, senior level presentations, candidate interviews for team positions, implementation and design of departmental strategy, outsourcing, transcreation process development, working as part of the operations management team on large scale efficiency improvement projects based on PRINCE2 methodology. Achievements: Achieved or bettered target buy rates across all Xerox external language suppliers whilst ensuring translation quality levels were maintained. Successfully managed teams in multiple European locations and progressed the transition of appropriate roles (resourcing & quality functions to a lower cost hub). Was selected for the Xerox senior management training path way.
Responsible for the implementation of various aspects of Xerox translation technology, driving software development projects using hybrid agile methodologies, presentations to the Xerox language teams, presentations to Xerox internal and external customers, leading the process tools and technology team, business analysis tasks, supporting the technical production team during busy periods. Developing localisation processes for different file formats including HTML, XML, MS office, website content & various CMS outputs and working with customer hosted systems such as SDL WorldServer. Completed an internal project management course based on PMP principles. Being the primary project lead for the Across Language Server Implementation project and supporting the implementation of Aprimo. Achievements: Worked closely with a team of software engineers and was successful in helping to prioritise their time/activities using agile project management methodology based on input from multiple Xerox stakeholders. This work resulted in significant savings via new automation methods. Selected and successfully implemented ProofHQ online review software for numerous customers which was a strong technical advancement compared to existing paper and PDF based review methods.
