My name is Kevin Randjelovic and I am a 29-year-old mechanical engineer from canton Ticino. I started my engineering studies in 2011 with a Bachelor program at ETH in Zurich, where later I also obtained a Master’s degree in the spring of 2017 specializing in design, mechanics and materials. In detail, I focused on the Finite Element Method and its application for structural analysis and optimization. In addition, I studied the mechanics of composite materials and their specific design and manufacturing processes as well as the design of lightweight and optimized structures. After my studies, I started working at a company specialized in the engineering and production of transfer machines, which are high volume and precision machining systems. After a brief company introduction, I settled as a FEM specialist in the R&D department, where I currently work. My tasks include working on the development of completely new machine platforms, as well as multiple client specific projects regarding both newer and older machine models. Specifically, I am responsible for all FEM analysis performed in the company like static structural verifications and optimizations, workpiece holding collet analysis with frictional contacts, modal analysis, the use of non-linear material properties (plasticity) and fatigue. I think of myself as a diligent and dependable person who is able to work well both independently and in a team. I am flexible, creative and a fast learner with the ability to quickly adapting to new environments. I am fluent in both English and German. In fact, I have extensively trained those languages during my studies (by attending lectures, writhing reports and performing oral exams and presentations), the military service (I had to lead a German speaking group) and at work (by writhing reports and communicating with customers and suppliers). Lastly, I constantly expand my English knowledge in private by enjoying movies and shows in English and I also have German-speaking relatives I can practice with.
