I tackle problems from the nanoscale to the macroscale.
Conducting research on carbon nanotube (CNT) synthesis for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) filtration in stormwater treatment. • Designed novel CNT fabrication technique onto SLA 3D printed carbon lattices based on literature reviews • Designed, built, assembled, and managed equipment enabling CVD and pyrolysis processes in high vacuum • Wrote Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for experiments and equipment • Purchased components, consumables, and supplies. Maintained lab equipment calibration, and kept the lab in compliance with EHS safety practices • Analyzed samples using Scanning Electron Microscopy & Optical Microscopy
o Explored the effects of an active vs. passive knee brace for patients with knee osteoarthritis via brace abduction moment modulation throughout gait cycle
o Separated T-Cells from blood samples o Stained CD4 T-Cells with fluorescent anti-bodies in preparation for flow cytometry o Labeled test tubes, prepared buffers/solutions, and organized patient data
o Organized and entered data for studies conducted by the Science Education Department at Seattle Children’s Research Institute via excel spreadsheets o Engaged students from elementary school to high school in science by setting up lab experiments
