- Worked with building managers to reduce their building operating costs with energy savings measures. Identified the most effective retrofit options through performing in person building audits and analyzing utility data. - Analyzed the impact of local law 97 in New York City, which set bold emission limits for buildings. Developed a calculator which took building owner’s inputs to deliver specific consequences of LL97 for them - Developed a process flow to streamline Multifamily Performance Program (MPP) applications including a calculator taking inputs to filter buildings likely to qualify
- Worked with an interdisciplinary team of graduate students representing Law, Public Policy, Public Health, Sustainability and Engineering to address the energy crisis in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula through the development of community solar programs in the Keweenaw Peninsula. - Performed a comprehensive cost benefit analysis on behalf of the utility and community encompassing financial, legal, social and environmental elements. - Created two interactive web displays (dashboards) in R Shiny to analyze cash flows for this and future projects based on subscribership and cost inputs. These are for the utility perspective and the aggregate community benefit. - Created a citizen facing interactive dashboard using R Shiny to allow prospective participants to understand the financial impact of different subscription options.
- Wrote and Implemented quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes in Matlab on wake steering project data gathered from Scaled Wind Farm Technology (SWiFT) facility for an experiment on wake steering and the impact of turbine yaw on subsequent turbines. - Using supercomputer resources and parallel computing, implemented these functions on data gathered from 77 sensors located across the site over a period of 4 months using parallel computing. - Received in depth biweekly tours of other relevant research facilities at Sandia in energy and geosciences.
