OBJECTIVE : To continue my career with a golf club or organisation that will utilise my knowledge, experience and skills to benefit mutual growth and success. PERSONAL STATEMENT : I am a dedicated, enthusiastic and professional individual with 20 years experience in a variety of areas within the golf industry both in the UK and abroad. I am resourceful, innovative and have excellent problem solving skills and strive to provide the finest quality golf experience for each and every member. I have good insight into areas where progress can enhance club growth and expansion, and I enjoy the challenge of creating and implementing new strategies to achieve this end. At a golfing level I have a deep understanding of golf swing analysis as well as an appreciation of human biomechanics which is augmented by the extensive knowledge of my wife who is a sports physiotherapist having worked at Olympic level. The renowned Royal Calcutta Golf Club is not only the oldest golf club in the world outside of the British Isles, but it is also one of the busiest golf clubs in India with approximately 3,000 active members, 15 professional staff and 300 caddies. I was approached by this historic club regarding employment whilst visiting India in December 2011 and commenced work in February 2012, with the goal to develop the first golf club academy at the RCGC, whilst improving the knowledge and skills of existing coaches at the club.
This distinguished and popular golf club was built in the year 1889 and is located in the beautiful Cotswold countryside in South West England. A 54 hole complex, it has over 2,500 members and held the qualifying rounds for the British Open from 2002 until 2007. During my time at Minchinhampton I was fortunate to be sponsored by Mercedes and was one of the busiest teaching professionals in the country. I continued to play to a scratch handicap and was one of the first individual PGA Golf Professionals in the UK to invest and use the latest computerised teaching software from 1996 onwards. From 1998 until 2007 I was coach to the world's number one junior golfer for his age group, until he left for the USA when he continued his work the David Leadbetter.
