I have worked for more than two years in the sports media field, both as a producer and as a reporter, with experiences in radio, social media, and digital media. As a sports reporter for 77 WABC, New York’s #1 News & Talk Radio Station, I built a keen sense of taking initiative, paying attention to detail, going outside of my comfort zones, succeeding in fast-paced environments, and creating original content in order to build sports brands and maintain reputations. In 6 months as a freelancer, my contributions have reached over 1.5 million users across a variety of social media platforms, leading to an exponential growth of traffic to the WABC sports website on a monthly basis. I am skilled in innovating ideas, writing and reporting on a multitude of sports, learning new production softwares in quick-fashion, and adapting to new environments.
• Detailed beat-like reporting covering the New York Giants and New York Rangers by going to games at MetLife Stadium and Madison Square Garden to interview players and coaches for content creation in addition to complimenting my writing on the games • Accounted for 1.5 million hits cumulatively by contributing to social media content (YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, and website) • Wrote most popular article during tenure as a contributing writer to wabcsportsradio.com reporting on current events in sports using WordPress • Created connections with a majority of New York sports organizations by acquiring game credentials to allow 77 WABC to cover them on-site (UFC, USTA, Giants, Jets, Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Islanders and NJ Devils) • Produced and delivered recorded and live sports reports on-the-air for 77 WABC from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday-Friday) • Provided insight and expertise during various guest appearances on WABC shows and podcasts, including as a fill-in host for the “Top 5 Sports with Sid Rosenberg” podcast
• Fully trained to operate an SAS Rubicon board for the 77 WABC radio station for shows lasting anywhere from one hour to four hours (“Bernie and Sid In The Morning,” ”The Greg Kelly Show,” “The Rudy Giuliani Show,” “James Golden AKA Bo Snerdley,” “Cats at Night,” “The Larry Kudlow Show,” “The Vinnie Medugno Show,” “The Dick Morris Show,” “Moore Money,” “The Curtis Sliwa Show,” “The Mark Levin Show,” “Dominic Carter,” “The Left vs The Right with Christopher Hahn and Curtis Sliwa,” “Uncovering the Truth with Rudy Giuliani and Dr. Maria Ryan” and “Common Sense with Bill O’Reilly”) • Responsible for launching weekly EAS tests, checking each WABC feed to confirm that we are on-air, keeping hosts on-time with the show schedule, and launching spot blocks for clients during commercial breaks by using the Zetta software • Prepared the studio by cleaning and checking microphones and headphones, along with accommodations as needed by the hosts inside the studio (more equipment for guest interviews, more soundbites as news comes in etc.) • Maintained top monthly Nielsen Ratings by operating the board during those shows and keeping the flow of the station during the shows, newscasts, and commercial breaks
• Screened around 100+ calls every day in the studio from listeners that would like to be on the shows with the talent which helps create more content • Produced full show podcasts and interview segments during each assigned show by using Adobe Audition and posting it online using Megaphone and WordPress to help reach more than 10 million downloads station-wide • In charge of conducting contests for the radio shows by selecting the winners over the phone and ensuring that their prizes are sent • Assisted in production and ran the board for multiple radio shows during the week and on the weekends when needed

This work study program allows me to referee intramural basketball, volleyball, flag football, and dodgeball. This job has helped me develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while growing decision making skills on the fly.
