About

Dr Kenny Chan is an experienced intensive care consultant committed to improving patient care through innovation and technology. Apart from clinical training, he holds master's degrees in biomedical engineering, statistical science, artificial intelligence and professional qualifications in information security management. He has pioneered multiple areas of healthcare innovation, including intensive care informatics, simulation training, crew resource management training, and extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation. Before pivoting to AI and analytics, he managed the overall intensive care service at Hong Kong's New Territories West Cluster of hospitals, serving a population of 1.1 million. There, he spearheaded the initiative to create a cross-ICU information system for the whole of Hong Kong and developed new ways to use AI and big data to improve healthcare outcomes. He is a highly respected member of the medical community and was the chairman of the Hong Kong Society of Critical Care Medicine, the first vice-chairman of the Resuscitation Council of Hong Kong, and the founding director of the Nethersole Clinical Simulation Training Centre. He is active in teaching and remains an honorary clinical associate professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a faculty of the Jockey Club Institute of Medical Education and Development.
