About

Professor of Biology committed to undergraduate education with a central goal to integrate scientific thinking and authentic research experiences into traditional coursework and independent study. Courses I teach include General Biology, Cell Biology, Cell Signaling, and Molecular Basis of Neurodegenerative Disease. Research projects focus on post-translational modifications and molecular mechanisms that control the EGR family of transcription factors and their coregulators NAB1 and 2. Techniques employed include mammalian cell culture, immunocytochemistry, immunoblot, immunoprecipitiation, ChIP, and a variety of transfection assays. Progress on projects is maintained by a team-based approach with a group of undergraduate and Master's level researchers.
