With a Master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from Colorado State University, my journey has led me to serve as a Military Intelligence Officer with the Colorado National Guard, a Research Director at the Firearms Research Center, and policy analyst at the Colorado State Patrol. I enjoy quantitative research and applying rigorous scientific methods to analyze complex issues.

    • In my role as Defensive Gun Use Database Consultant, I established a standardized format for capturing and categorizing instances of defensive gun use within the Heritage database. • Once standardization was complete, I worked to expand the existing data points and capture new data. • After the dataset had been improved, I assumed co-authorship and lead data analyst responsibilities of an academic research publication empirically analyzing the Defensive Gun Use Database expanded dataset. The paper is now currently under review and production. • The contract signed covered a 6-month period and ended in July 2024.

    • As the primary researcher constructing a historical database of all weapon regulations instituted before the year 1900 at a local, state, and Federal levels in the United States, I successfully identified 1500 laws. • Research duties for the database included collating relevant laws from primary and secondary sources, checking for accuracy, accurately summarizing and transcribing said laws, database management, and using the research for legal briefs and academic publications. • In December 2023, the project was completed.
