Customs & Trade and Compliance: • Ensure full compliance with all relevant domestic and international trade laws, customs regulations, and import/export requirements. Experienced with U.S., Canadian, and international customs regulations. • Primary point of contact for various customs processes, including CERS, FTA, and CARM. • FTA implementation, RVC’s, Tariff shift, Essential character, and Country of origin determination. • Oversee all customs and trade compliance activities, including entry adjustments, FTA eligibility, and the audit and approval of duty invoices. • Manage the drawback processes, including requests for customs rulings and issuance of trade documents such as Free Trade COOs and OGA. • Harmonized System (HS) determinations and classification • Develop, implement, and review strategies to overcome customs and trade compliance obstacles. • Maintain electronic records in compliance with regulatory requirements. Logistics: • Collaborate with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and additional agents to ensure smooth customs clearance and timely delivery for all in bound and out bound shipments. • Collaborate with agents and carriers for rate negotiation. • Monitor shipments to and from the facility, resolving any shipment exceptions promptly. • Provide project costing and routing expertise and suggest strategies for timely and cost-effective shipping. • Coordinate 3P drop shipping, pull logistics, and consolidations • Packaging theory and engineering; creating, implementing and continuously improving packaging to ensure the best product value in aspects of quality, safety and cost.
