I am a director with international experience in the field of operations and general management, for both family businesses and multinationals. Since the start of my career, I have been passionate about transport and logistics. I have broad knowledge of and experience with global transport, supply chain, product development, reorganisations/change management, freight, administration, procurement, sales and IT positions. As a director, I have held responsibility within line and matrix organisations. I have also successfully managed reorganisations and complex projects. In addition to implementing the strategy, learning to understand the interests of customers and staff are key in my management teams. I have lived and worked in Austria, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Improving organisations and developing teams and colleagues energises me. Operations Director Netherlands (interim) with 7 direct reports, ca. 1,000 FTE - Managing the TNT healthcare hub and Dutch daily operations (distribution, storage) with the highest-ever service level for delivery (> 98.5% on time and complete) within budget (cost reduction of 10% for delivery/pick up). Project Director - Complete, successful and timely divestment of the TNT airline to an external party, without disruption to daily operations. Global Customer Solutions Director - Developing, negotiating and implementing custom solutions for key and potential customers. - Product development, (re)development of services so that these connect with the requirements of the market and are efficiently and reliably realised by TNT.
Operations & Engineering Director Germany with 9 direct reports, 5,000 FTE indirect, +€300 million costs - Successful initiation and realisation of change, in which management layers were reduced and the authority to make decisions was transferred to local branches. - Leading the redesign of the network to reduce costs and improve reliability, while expanding the possibilities for our customers by offering significantly better cut-off times for our branches and customers at lower costs. - Lean-based operations excellence and continuous improvement implemented in all branches, with the involvement of the Works Council and best-in-class support from the staff department. - Implementing active partnership between sales and operations in all layers of the organisation and all branches.
General Manager transportation EMEA with 5 direct reports, 50 FTE indirect, freight costs managed from +€120 million - Implementing transport management in EMEA (incl. road, air, sea, VAS, global control tower operations). - Successfully developed and implemented transport solutions (3PL and 4PL) including procurement and management of the external carrier (road, air, sea, both B2B and B2C). - Account and tender management of (global) customers. - Lean implementation within transport management, resulting in cost reductions for a customer of more than 12% (profit sharing for Menlo). - Leading and coaching the engineering department and procurement department. - Developing and realising supply-chain solutions for customers in the field of warehousing, transport and VAS.
