I served as the President for the Ithaca College chapter of PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America). PRSSA is a non-profit organization on campus that focuses on the importance of networking, career tips, and resume building. I spearheaded the partnership of PRSSA with AMA to bring Lauren Berger, "The Intern Queen," to campus to speak to students about "Everything Internships." Last fall, I organized a networking night called "We are PR," which gave members the opportunity to network with local professionals in the field as well as gain some networking experience. In the spring, I organized and ran our annual basketball tournament for the Make a Wish foundation called "Make a Swish for Make a Wish." We were able to collect $1300 for the foundation. PRSSA has allowed me to effectively demonstrate my strong leadership and organizational skills. It has put me in contact with different types of people and has given me the experience of working with event planning, time management, and small scale crisis situations.
