After 12 years as Deputy Head and Director of Performing Arts at Borlase, I became Headteacher of the school in January 2018. Prior to Borlase, I taught at The Windsor Boys', Windsor Girls' and briefly at Edgbarrow School. I have had the pleasure of working with so many talented young people and am always pleased to hear from them. Passionate about keeping the joy and excitement in education through academic challenge, creativity and access to enriching experiences inside and outside the classroom, I am always looking for opportunities for our pupils and teachers. The support of Old Borlasians is invaluable. My own background is the Arts having taught English and Drama and directed plays and shows for over 30 years at schools and I am very proud that the arts thrive at Borlase in a climate where funding is a challenge. We are about to start building a long overdue Sports Hall at school and hope to find funding for an astroturf and a boathouse for our rowers who perform brilliantly well as a state school without our own base. We will be celebrating our 400th birthday in 2024 and I Iook forward to marking this with current and old Borlasians in a school that celebrates our past, present and future.
