Important roles - * Strategy development for cost & risk-based choice of export & import routes. * Managing group-level imports of raw materials and capital goods from major import lanes (S-E Asia, EU, Japan, USA, China, Brazil, Egypt & USA), apprx 800 TEU's p.a. and around 1100 air shipments per year up to 10 MT/consignment. * Handle major Logistics e-auctions for yearly contracts (INR 1.5 cr p.a. proven saving in 2016-17 season) * Ensuring smooth & detention-free custom clearance of FCL/LCL sea import cargo at ICD Ludhiana (PB), ICD Mandideep (MP) & Nhava Sheva port through multiple CHA's. * Freight negotiation for all FOB/EXW air/sea import contracts. * Centrally managing group-level vendor contracts for national FTL/LTL transportation for EXIM logistics, CHA's, external warehousing, international/domestic (express) courier, domestic surface (express) cargo services * Close liaisoning with senior management of Nhava Sheva/Mundra/Pipavav port authorities/rail operators/shipping lines for timely evacuation of import containers and handling last-minute escalations for export consignments. * Ensuring smooth functioning of third-party contractual warehouses at New Delhi (for paper and yarn storage) * Vetting letter of credit language for all import contracts. * Spearheading organized efforts to issue more than 10,000 landing certificates for IEIS and MEIS schemes for exports at negotiated rates from shipping lines/freight forwarders. Forte : * Vendor relationship building & performance management (more than 25 vendors) * Contract negotiations for reducing landed cost for company Achievements : * Conversion of all sea/air import shipments from CIF/CPT to FOB/EXW basis & , saving at least 20% freight cost per consignment. * Regularizing reverse logistics for cotton dispatches on ex-Mundra & ex-Nhava Sheva with proven cost saving of INR 43 lacs in 2015-16 (won Chairman's award for best project) * 98% detention-free clearance of import shipments in 2014-16 period.
Project: Forecasting, planning & scheduling of pharma products in regulated markets for better products availability * Understanding the supply chain of Wockhardt Pharmaceuticals and comparing it with industry best practices * Provide Wockhardt with a third-party (non-pharma background) perspective of operational efficiency of supply chain and demand planning * Help improve Wockhardt's forecasting accuracy by implementing industry's best practices
