My current interest is to stabilize new states of matter using light-matter interaction. In particular, I am trying to couple phonons of crystalline thin films with the vacuum fluctuations within Fabry-Perot cavity. Such a coupling gives rise to the hybrid states, which are known as vibro-polariton states. I am using Raman scattering to see these vibro-polariton states.

I have been working in the area of quantum materials that have strong electron correlations, spin-orbit interaction, and non-trivial band topology. I am particularly interested in probing quasiparticles in these quantum materials using inelastic light scattering techniques. At the home laboratory, I predominantly use polarized Raman scattering. At synchrotron facilities I do inelastic x-ray scattering.
