I am an academic and policy specialist with two decades of academic, policy research and administrative experience . Prior to joining IIM Lucknow, I was engaged with IISD as a Principal Policy Adviser. In this capacity I have also been leading UNEP India Mission on Measurement of SDG 12.c.1. Besides that I was associated as a Senior Consultant with Tata Trusts for the India Consensus Project administered jointly by Tata Trust and Copenhagen Consensus Centre, USA. Till recently, I was serving as Associate Professor at the Delhi based The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) School of Advanced Studies and as an Adjunct Senior Fellow with TERI. My notable engagement in the past includes serving as Member of the sub-group on transport sector formed by Government of India for providing inputs to the India Chapter of the Energy Technology Perspectives 2010, International Energy Agency (IEA); columnist on energy sector with Financial Express; visiting faculty with United Nations University (UNU-IIST) and Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi; visiting scholar with Asian Growth Institute (AGI), Japan under Japanese Society of Promotion of Science (JSPS); low carbon transport specialist for ADB commissioned project on Low Carbon Transport in India and China; invitee consultant with IEA/OECD; Economic officer with Finance Commission, Government of India and Research Officer to erstwhile UN Special Rapporteur on Right to Development. I am an alumnus of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership, Cambridge University and also of Babson College, USA, from where I have completed the Price Babson Programme on Entrepreneurship. I have around 70 publications to my credit that includes ABDC A* and A rated journals and with publishers like Edward Elgar, Oxford University Press, Elsevier Science, Sage, among others. I have supervised 4 PhD and was in the thesis advisory committee of 2 DPM/PhD thesis at IIML all of whom have been awarded final degree. I am currently supervising three executive PhD scholars and My areas of teaching and research interests include- Economics, Entrepreneurship, Public Policy, Business Sustainability, ESG Issues in Investing, Impact Investing, Transportation and Energy Policy.
Involved in overseeing and guiding a number of monitoring and evaluation studies on skill development under the aegis of National Skill Mission and State Skill Development Authority, among other and on ICT for education.
