I’m a product marketing leader known for launching and growing consumer products at the intersection of tech and entertainment. I current lead the product marketing team at Threads, Meta's app for public conversations. As the app's first marketer and one of the architects of its original launch strategy that famously led it to hit 100M users in 5 days, I have touched every aspect of the app's business strategy, from product marketing to partnerships, brand, comms and growth. My team has contributed powerfully to the app's continued growth, product strategy and feature launch execution, keeping us on trajectory to become Meta's next major business. Before Threads, I helped launch and scale Reels, Instagram’s video business and engagement driver across Meta platforms. Earlier in my career, I held roles at Airbnb, Facebook, and J.P. Morgan, where I developed a strong multidisciplinary foundation in global marketing, partnerships, and operations. The through-line in my career is my curiosity about people. I am happiest in roles where I'm facing scary, complex problems that require me understand what makes someone tick, what motivates their behavior, and how I can communicate with them in a way that emotionally resonates and builds a relationship. I thrive in zero-to-one environments and care deeply about building products that support connection, creativity and storytelling at scale. I regularly speak on topics including go-to-market strategy, consumer trends, the creator economy and building marketing teams for high-growth products. Connect with me on Threads at @katiehill.
I lead the Creator and Consumer Product Marketing team for Threads, Meta's app for public conversations. I built the PMM team after serving as the app's first marketer and architect of its go-to-market strategy through its launch in 2023 when we hit 100M users in 5 days. Under my leadership, the PMM team has helped Threads continue to set growth records in its category (we currently have more than 400M monthly users), launch hundreds of features in under 3 years, and remain on the path to be Meta's next major business.
