If you're part of an organization driving positive environmental change, you're likely facing challenges and opportunities that seem impossible or heavy or stuck; I've been there. Let's work together! I affect progress thru authentic engagement, creativity and action-oriented solutions. My work pulls in systems-thinking, organizational behavior science, human centered design principles and operating from a place of abundance and possibility. Launched a mobile gaming company to engage consumers in renewable energy.
As COO, I led the team putting the trampolines under WattTime and its partners - namely with responsibility for organizational goal setting, hiring, performance, compensation, compliance, finance, marketing, communications and fundraising. I came into the role at a time of rapid transition and enabled it to grow in a meaningful way - namely, achieving ongoing growth of 100x annual impact. I served the WattTime mission with an incredible team of software engineers, data scientists, analysts and partnership developers from diverse backgrounds and with an incredible sense of purpose and drive. Together, we built a trust-based culture where people can thrive professionally and personally. A few projects I led that bring me the most pride: * Designed and scaled equitable practices from scratch, notably Compensation, Hiring, Performance, Remote Work and Leave. * Established a standalone back office, including Accounting, Compliance and Benefits, during a swift 14-day spinout in 2021. * Led approach, structure and ethos for all people-work resulting in 300% team growth, 95% acceptance of offers and minimal turnover. * Managed 10+ fulltime and contract employees and vendor partners based globally, across Operations, Marketing, IT and Programs. * Served WattTime’s Board of Directors as Secretary; recruited, onboarded, offboarded new Board Members; owned meeting materials. * Led MarCom strategy to amplify partner success and elevate emissions analysis at the intersection of data, tech, and social impact. * Spearheaded semi-annual team offsites including creation and facilitation of organizational, technical, and cultural topics and practices and pivots between remote and in-person during a global pandemic.
I joined the team making actionable "what time" is the cleanest to use energy - a choice people haven't had despite the fact that pollution from fossil fuel electricity generation is significant and damaging and that there is a lot of flexible energy load out there we use a lot (eg. thermostats, EV chargers. hot water heaters). I joined a mighty team of 8 where I orchestrated multi-stakeholder collaborations to adopt and elevate WattTime's technology through partnerships, marketing and overhauling our website. I also joined when I was 3 months pregnant and had the privilege of establishing our organization's parental leave policy and practices; it was a time of a lot of positive professional and personal growth! The partnerships team continued to grow when I moved over to COO, securing significant opportunities for impact with Google Nest, Microsoft and Salesforce amongst others.
My role on the Sustainability Team focuses on employee engagement in delivering on NRG's vision to drive a sustainable energy future. I lead one of the 5 pillars for our Sustainability Strategy, focusing on efforts to train employees on sustainability principles, create and sustain onsite programming, reduce workplace waste and uphold the UN Women Empowerment Principles. As a small team, NRG Sustainability collaborates extensively with other internal business groups as well as external organizations to both accelerate our impacts and infuse diverse perspectives and objectives of our stakeholders into our efforts. One of the projects our team leads which makes me the most proud is the work to achieve our aggressive, science based climate reduction goals.
