Architect, urban planner, researcher and photographer, professor of international urbanism at the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt am Main (2013-2018), professor at the Urbanism Department (DUTP) at ETSAV-BarcelonaTech, visiting professor at the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería in Lima/ Peru and at the Master of International Cooperation in Sustainable Emergency Architecture at the ESARQ-UIC in Barcelona. Kathrin Golda-Pongratz' experience expands into architectural and cultural transmission and curatorship. In 2016 she curated the exhibition «Invisible» (Las Arenas, Barcelona, with Pedro Vicente, June 2016) and has more recently presented two exhibitions/ cultural programmes as a curator: the project «Ciutat, espais i arquitectura de la memòria» (El Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria, Barcelona, February/ March 2017), commissioned by the Institut dels Passats Presents of the city of Barcelona, of which she is a member; and the exhibition and series of debates «Geopresències. De la distància gràfica a la micropolítica» (Sala Zero de Roca Umbert, Granollers/ Spain, February 2017, co-curated with Bernat Lladó and Ignasi López). Between 2016 and 2018 she was directing a trans-media film project on the urban memory of the self-built neighbourhood El Ermitaño in Lima/ Peru, which re-evaluates the theses of British architect John F C Turner, explores contemporary territorial identities and suggests new approaches for the area's sustainable future development. It was presented at the Habitat III Conference in Quito/ Ecuador in October 2016 and was supported by the Building and Social Housing Foundation (World Habitat). The film was first presented at the Goethe-Institute in Lima/ Peru in October 2018.
