Provide leadership and coordination to the Law Center’s academic assessment processes designed to improve student-learning outcomes. Provide direction, leadership, and advice to faculty, academic administrators, and others involved in the design, development, and evaluation of instructional programs, learning, and academic services. Build assessment data infrastructure and advance accreditation efforts to document both program improvements and learning outcomes.
Instituted a new Continuous Program Improvement (CPI) process noted as a Significant Accomplishment in the 2019 Middle States Team Report; envisioned and led a change management initiative, called Campus Conversations, toward building an engaged institute-wide community; co-led the Middle States self-study process and writing of report; oversaw assessment of student learning. Reported to the VP for Planning, Analytics, and Decision Support and then to the Provost/VPAA.
Provided leadership, oversight, and coordination of university-wide assessment and evaluation processes. Designed and implemented processes to monitor assessment of student learning, institutional effectiveness, strategic planning, and academic program review. Supervised College of Pharmacy Director of Assessment, two Academic Assessment Specialists, and Assessment Coordinator for Institutional Effectiveness staff members. Reported to the Provost and VP for Academic Affairs.
Developed assessment of student learning process for 147 academic programs and assessment of General Education based on faculty engagement model. Developed and led Faculty Assessment Fellow teams. Implemented review process for academic assessment reports. Provided leadership for the Middle States self-study working groups for Educational Offerings, General Education, and Assessment standards. Developed and implemented assessment plan for university-wide blended learning programs. Reported to the Deputy VP for Academic Affairs.
Policy Center Advisor for twenty-nine institutions throughout the country participating in the Foundations of Excellence® Self Study, including two tribal institutions (www.jngi.org/foe-program). Provided analytic reviews to Foundational Dimension® reports and final action plan for each participating institution. Made site-visits to select institutions. Designed twelve and co-moderated more than fifty Webinars with participating institutions. Analyzed national 2006-2007 Foundations of Excellence survey datasets. Co-liaison for visit by Japanese educators examining American first year of college. Reported to the Chief Executive Officer.
Hired to establish an institutional research office and use institutional research data as a tool for engaging faculty and staff in efforts to improve the college. Served on Senior Leadership Team. Produced key institutional data including retention analysis. Served as NEASC regional accreditation agency liaison. Provided strategic plan updates to the Board of Trustees.
