Led a team of 80+ engineers and researchers developing GE's next generation of renewable energy systems, T&D equipment and controls, motors, generators, drives, frequency converters, and electric propulsion systems.
Develop, guide, and manage the R&D technology portfolio for the three industrial businesses within GE Energy Connections. Responsible for ensuring that R&D is aligned to business product and technology plans and ensuring a smooth transfer from R&D to production. This broad industrial R&D portfolio includes power electronics, power systems, circuit breaker, machines, and controls technology development. Oversight includes research efforts in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, covering a wide range of applications across multiple industry areas.
Led a group of approximately 15 researchers developing technologies for next-generation electric power systems. The technologies we work on include: - Power converter controls to improve wind/solar plant performance in high-penetration environments. - PMU applications in transmission and distribution grids. - Power systems protection. - Power systems issues associated with HVDC transmission. - Applications of energy storage and the associated economic/market impact. - Microgrids and associated controls.
