Hello! I'm Katherine, a Senior majoring in Fire Protection Engineering with a minor in Project Management at the University of Maryland. I am interested in the intersection of engineering with infrastructure development, to better serve underrepresented communities.
Lead and planned UMD's First Student Runned Latine Graduation Celebration since 2010 with over 140+ graduates and 800+ guests and staff. Oversaw and led planning for Latine Heritage Month Opening and Closing Events with over 200+ students in attendance. Coordinated 20 Latine Based Organizations in committees. Led the Latine Graduation Planning Committee.
Created Marketing Materials for Events with 100+ attendance.
Developed the designing and engineering of a device for fire suppression using sound waves.
-Designed an water dispersion collection device to analyze the suppression effectiveness of an autonomous fire response - Performed data analysis on water dispersion results to evaluate suppression method's effectiveness and patterns
