Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany
Started in 2007 at a full-service event agency – and we really did carry the pizza oven, and I even performed as a walking act for a construction company. I’ve heard the phrase “apprenticeships are not for the privileged” (saying translated from German language) too many times. And it was true. During my training, I switched companies for that very reason and ended up in the beautiful town of Bad Salzuflen, where there are still saline springs and you can enjoy a delicious strawberry sundae at lunch. I quickly realized, though, that I probably wouldn’t experience "privileged years" here either, and I was thrown straight into client acquisition for the regional trade fairs "ProBio" (oh yes! The trend was already there in 2008) and "Rund um die Frau" (I know, this name is kind of "cringe" in 2022). But then, it went straight ahead. I found my place in Hamburg. After five very educational years at east end communications in Bahrenfeld, I made a quick stop at the Wilkenwerk agency in Altona, until former colleagues (from east end communications) lured me into the world of media agencies. And that’s where I sat, at the Atlantic House with Fuse, part of the Omnicom Media Group, and learned a lot about media. Speaking of media. In the meantime, I also completed a part-time degree at FOM in Hamburg in this field. This meant attending class every Friday evening and Saturday. Two weeks in February and four weeks in August off from university, but of course, there was always something to do for the subjects. That’s when you really get to know yourself differently, and I was often jealous of my classmates who told me they got 10 hours off for studying or had other cool benefits. Oh well. In short. Apprenticeship done. Degree done. And thanks to the studies and some other crazy coincidences (I love sharing these stories with those who want to hear them), I ended up at Aurubis. By the way, I wanted to be here in 2014, but I got cut in the final stage. However, the universe led me back to Veddel in 2018 – yay! Now, I’m managing a bunch of exciting projects, 100% for one brand: "Yes, exactly, that big company you can see when you cross the Elbbrücken." Oh, and I also really love sports – running, indoor cycling, Les Mills BodyPump, etc.! I’m also an indoor cycling instructor and someday, someday, I’ll definitely become a Les Mills Trainer. That’s still on my bucket list.
