I help organisations solve three critical problems: 1. Your Awarding Organisation/Assessment Organisation is overwhelmed by demand peaks and regulatory requirements When deadlines loom, regulatory demands intensify, and your team is stretched thin, quality and compliance suffer. I provide flexible, expert support across your qualification lifecycle: policy writing and review, regulatory compliance support, process/audit reviews, guidance development, new qualification development with SMEs, independent suite reviews, technical specification review, assessment strategies and materials, and HTQ recognition applications. You get specialist expertise exactly when you need it, without permanent hire overhead. 2. Your leadership and L&D function isn't delivering the business impact you need When leaders lack skills to inspire performance and your L&D team struggles to prove commercial value, your business suffers. I design accelerated leadership development programmes for in-house delivery, with trainer-training support and ongoing coaching. I also work with L&D and OD Business Partners to develop organisational values and competencies, sharpen commercial skills, and position them as strategic partners contributing to the bottom line. Grounded in 30+ years of experience and evidence-based psychology, my programmes ensure leaders step up and L&D becomes a revenue driver, not a cost centre. 3. Your apprenticeship programme quality and leadership aren't where they need to be, and you're worried about inspection When teaching quality is inconsistent, curriculum leadership lacks clarity, and learner progress stalls, Ofsted-style scrutiny becomes a threat. As a Quality Apprenticeship Governor, I work with senior and curriculum leaders to establish robust quality assurance frameworks aligned with inspection frameworks: systematic observations of teaching, learning and assessment, developmental feedback systems, and evidence-gathering that demonstrates intent, implementation and impact. I strengthen leadership capacity so leaders can confidently articulate curriculum rationale, drive continuous improvement, and create high-expectation cultures. You'll demonstrate how apprentices develop knowledge, skills and behaviours for their next steps, while your teaching team gets support to consistently deliver outstanding learning experiences.

As a Qualifications Development Associate, I develop diverse Ofqual regulated bespoke qualifications in partnership with clients to meet their organisational requirements. I also conduct audits of existing client training programmes to help them to achieve 'endorsed programme' status. During '22 I acted as part time Interim Qualifications Development Manager, managing a range of projects and Associate freelance staff. ATHE is a global awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual and other UK and international regulators. We work with more than 280 recognised centres in over 55 countries to complement our strong brand presence in the UK. ATHE offers a wide portfolio of vocationally orientated and internationally recognised qualifications – such as business and management, law, computing and healthcare. ATHE qualifications are approved as progression pathways to relevant Bachelor’s and Master’s Top Up degrees by a growing number of UK and international Universities, providing significant tertiary education opportunities for our learners.
I deliver a range of consultancy projects to support organisational people and process changes, for example, facilitating the writing of organisational values and developing competence frameworks linked to performance management. I also review applications for professional recognition of leadership and coaching learning programmes for 'Institute Approved' status, verifying that they provide the most up-to-date approaches and content. The Institute recognises leadership development programmes that are contemporary, engaging and focused on improving practice.
