Designed, instructed and evaluated English Language and Literature courses: Ninth Grade Foundations of Literature; Tenth Grade Literature and Composition; combined Eleventh and Twelfth grade semester courses, designed by each instructor around a variety of themes. Coached girls’ Varsity and Junior Varsity teams for Statewide, Intra- and Inter-League competition. League Champions, 2005. Coached boys’ and girls’ Middle School Track. Redesigned and reinvigorated student-run Honor Council; heard confidential cases in cooperation with Council; conducted elections; created lesson plan for Freshman Seminar unit on the Honor Code; designed and implemented new educational and student-run advisory committees to further educate students about the Honor Code. Project Coordination: Administered Student Voices Philadelphia, a civic engagement curriculum for secondary students in thirty-two Philadelphia public high schools, designed to help them form and advocate policies for the improvement of their city and neighborhood. Project Evaluation: Wrote and conducted surveys to assess the outcomes and effectiveness of the program in terms of student knowledge, involvement, thinking, and behavior as citizens and voters.
With Unit members, created and edited Graduate/Professional school application guides and manuals and developed, planned and executed application workshops and professional panels; maintained unit schedules. Front line of contact for University students, alumni, faculty, administrators, and parents concerning all issues related to applying to graduate and professional schools. Directed users and solved problems requiring knowledge of university and office resources, admissions policies, Penn Credentials (recommendation) Service, and admissions testing and application processes. Scheduled and coordinated all aspects of recruitment by Admissions representatives from 50+ United States and International Graduate and Professional schools; served as initial point of contact between students and Admissions recruiters; managed all data and literature related to recruitment and admissions, including Alumni Survey.
