Over two decades of commercial experience in the energy and logistics industries including project management, freight trading, chartering, market analysis, business development, operations, gas and power trading roles. - Key tasks: Business Development, CoA modelling deal negotiation, chartering, freight trading, hedging. Hired from spot desk to grow out in house cargo desk enabling MT to optimize on TCE earnings, pool coverage or leverage advantages of being charterers fixing in relets. - Additional roles: EUA trading, FuelEU CB trading & commercial scenario planning, IMO NZF modelling. - Commercial manager for customer service agreements, contract negotiations and renewals. Represented MT externally in EU ETS, FuelEU and ESG forums (Danish Shipping, BIMCO, ESSF etc). - Commercial ESG lead for CSRD cycle incl. MT and MPTs DMA (2024) reporting to CFO for input into APMH portfolio Annual Report. - Tasked by CEO to calculate commercial FuelEU exposure, implemented strategy to optimize compliance balance & negotiated pricing contracts. Link btwn chartering, fuel optimization & pool management team for EUAs and FuelEU CB. Wrote and delivered internal FuelEU training. Calculated projected IMO NZF scenario impacts basis BAU and DF tonnage. Support to green fuel team and spot/ TC desks as required. Studied MSc Sustainable Leadership (DTU) part time. Fixed on average 300 ships a year from handys up to LR2/afras, predominately clean med handies but covered other markets.
Seconded 20% time for a project building the business case for Dual Fuel tankers basis EU ETS, FuelEU and potential IMO NZF adoption. Contributed commercial content to the European Sustainable Shipping Forum-Sustainable Alternative Power for Shipping- Work Stream 1: Guidelines demonstrating the practical application of FuelEU calculations, with a focus on demonstrating the financial and environmental GHG savings attained via incremental compliance across a range of alternative fuels versus BAU (FF).
