  • University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine (Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States)
    • Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Neuro Image Research and Analysis Lab (NIRAL)
      Feb 2022 - Present · 4 yrs 6 mos

Worked on scripts for the analysis of diffusion weighted MRI images. I was working on optimizing a pipeline for T1w/T2w ratio computation and normalization.

    • Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Stein Lab
      Jun 2021 - Present · 5 yrs 2 mos

I am currently engaged in my senior honors thesis, an independent project in which I aim to train a convolutional neural network to enhance lightsheet mouse brain images. Through this project I’ve leveraged and improved my skills in Python scripting, registration tools such as SimpleITK and machine learning libraries like TensorFlow. Worked on a project investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms driving cortical overgrowth in Autism Spectrum Disorder. The lab utilized iPSC differentiated into 3D organoids as a model system for the developing cortex. I focused on analyzing gene expression from these organoids, identifying correlations to abnormal cortical growth and helped prepare media for experiments. Trained and proficient in qPCR, RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis and data analysis. Developed training data for a machine learning algorithm that aims to leverage computational power to identify and quantify nuclei from MRI images of mouse brains.

  • Emergency Medical Technician at South Orange Rescue Squad
    Sep 2022 - Present · 3 yrs 11 mos

As an EMT with SORS, I respond to 911 calls within the orange county system and provide coverage for community events. My duties include patient triage and administering patient care.
