Together with two friends, I founded world's first organisation to stop River Plastic, before it can destroy the biodiversity of the oceans. We developed a scalable, low-tech and cost-effective approach to address marine plastic pollution at scale. Our work has been recognised by the World Economic Forum, awarded with Germany's most important sustainability prize. Most importantly, we stopped millions of kilograms of plastic from reaching the oceans in world's most polluted rivers and created dozens of jobs for local people in India and Indonesia. Instead of pursuing my law career, I co-founded world's first organisation to protect marine biodiversity from plastic pollution - already in rivers.
