Kreiskrankenhaus Delitzsch GmbH is the company name that stands for two different hospitals in two different locations.
I work as part of a team responsible for budget and remuneration negotiations at the university hospital in the areas of somatics and psychiatry (PEPP). We calculate the hospital's fees and surcharges (in close coordination with the responsible departments in medical staff, administration, etc.), conduct negotiations with health insurance companies, develop individual negotiation strategies, and calculate the payment equalization amounts. Additionally, monitoring legal developments and analyzing their impact is an important part of the work, including fulfilling various legal reporting obligations and advising management on economic issues. I also provide support with monthly and annual financial closing activities and handle ad-hoc economic analyses.
I was responsible for the preparation and follow-up of the hospital's budget and fee negotiations. Participating in negotiations with the payers was just as much a part of my duties as developing negotiation strategies. Profitability analyses, ad hoc evaluations, the creation of forecasts, and the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports were integral parts of my activities. Directly reporting to the management, I supported the hospital leadership in strategic decision-making through well-founded business analyses.
I was visiting New Zealand on a working holiday visa. During my time there I was working for different companies to fund my travels. I was fortunate to experience another culture and to improve my English skills to a fluent level that gave me the ability to successfully perform my jobs in an English speaking environment.
