1987 started working for Mr Bernard Jones managing director , owner of Mfc survival as technical service engineer which entailed looking after buildings , machinery on the shop floor also traveling the uk , servicing and maintaining life saving equipment at various fire brigades throughout the uk . Progressing through the company to the position of technical sales manager , responsible for sales in the uk and Ireland blue light industry dealing with middle and senior personnel on sales / technical enquires . Responsible for attending organising exhibitions and demonstrations of a wide range of life saving product . Unfortunately I had been made redundant from this position after nearly 25 years service back in 2011 . Starting up a new business KTC Fire was a difficult decision at that time due to increasing cut backs and shrinking budgets within the industry . Thanks to the tremendous support and enthusiasm of our customers we at KTC Fire have been supplying new innovative equipment together with our extensive service program with great success . I have updated all my certification to enable steady progress ie lifejacket service certified , both high and low pressure airbag service certified , inflatable water rescue product certified , BSI 9001 certified company . Also attending and receiving certificates in tack international sales training courses part 1 and 2 2007 . Certified service Maintenace of breathing apparatus regulators type C60 . Certificate from Oxford college for design 1996/1997 . Certificate of appreciation presented by chief fire officer Richard Hannigan to Karl Thomas of KTC Fire for outstanding commitment and dedication to rescue day and on going collaboration with Humberside fire and rescue . Certificate presented to Karl Thomas at the Radisson Blue Hotel / Dublin airport by the fire Officers Association for attendance theory and technical presentations / 2019 once again I find myself in the position of having to start again !!
