I am a multi-platform database administrator (DBA) with a focus on SAP database administration for ASE, Hana and IQ. I also have extensive DBA experience on Microsoft SQL Server. It has been a real privilege to work for ING for 14 years. My strengths are with database administration, Linux and data migrations. I am an all around good IT engineer and I look forward to a new opportunity in the Netherlands. I read Dutch well but I cannot write/speak it so an English speaking work environment is better for me. I am currently not interested in short-term work.
Currently working for SAP to help manage the databases in the Enterprise Cloud Environment (ECS). My responsibilities in this complex environment are: * Support all L2 DBAs working from India with any technical issues on Hana and ASE * Support the zero-outage room with root cause analysis for database outages and provide solutions to avoid future outages * Handle and resolve incidences and alerts according to the SLA * Advice the customer when database configurations need to be changed * Work closely with the SAP application support engineers when the application is causing repeated alerts on the database * Provide tuning advice for SAP Hana (in-memory db) when it uses a high amount of memory * Troubleshoot database backup issues * Interact with SAP product support regarding database bugs * Help with the challenge of keeping internal documentation up-to-date * Help with the on-boarding and training of new colleagues
Part of the DBA Team to provide 24/7 database support for Microsoft SQL Servers (until 2014) and SAP Sybase (until Aug-2020). • Administration of database logins, users, groups and roles • Troubleshoot problems on production, test and development databases such as blocked user sessions, full transaction logs, slow running queries, user access privileges issues, database connection issues and software bugs • Raise bug reports with SAP and Microsoft Technical Services, track and implement recommendations • Life cycle management for MS SQL Server and SAP • Installation and configuration of new SAP and MS SQL Server including the building of user databases and the migration of customer data and security settings • Configure MS SQL Server database mirroring for Disaster Recovery • Installation and configuration of new MS SQL Servers by following ING’s best practice guidelines • Manage database increases from development to production and order storage on the ING Cloud when required • Weekend testing of Disaster Recovery by failing-over the primary database to the DR data center • Database restore tests from long-term storage such as Tivoli/Isilon • Develop & maintain K-shell Linux scripts for SAP database maintenance such as update stats, cloning, security reporting and night-time batch job tuning • Provide technical support and tuning advice to the development teams • Copy production databases to development servers and anonymize sensitive data • Configure database auditing and provide security reports to management • Followed strict Change Management procedure by using ServiceNOW • Developed data migration scripts as proof-of-concept to migrate SAP databases to Oracle Exadata Environment: Agile/SCRUM, Microsoft SQL Server 2000/5/8/12/14, SAP Sybase, SUSE and RedHat Linux, ServiceNOW, VMware
