Senior Consultant promoted through to Head of Fire
Provide specialist advice on the application and interpretation of fire legislation and guidance. Advise on all aspects of fire safety including policy, prevention and management. Develop and deliver fire safety training with emphasis on promoting a positive fire safety culture through appropriate and engaging content. Ensure a fire risk management system is in place, undertake fire risk assessments and identify and develop action plans for improvement. Assist in the design and development of construction projects on matters relating to fire safety, from a technical aspect through to appropriate management. Investigate and report on incidents, maintain records and liase with all internal and or external stakeholders.
Provide rescue and firefighting services to the public, employees and aircraft within the aerodrome and surrounding area. undertaking fire risk assessments, assisting in fire safety designs and implementing fire safety preventive measures, including monitoring the effectiveness of systems in place. Ensure a high level of competency within role through assessed periodic training. Operate technical machinery, vehicles and equipment including maintaining and testing these to a high standard.
Provision of rescue and firefighting services as required by the Armed Forces; within the UK and NATO operational areas, worldwide, as and when required. Gained experience attending a wide range of incidents involving, but not limited to, building and vehicle fires, explosives, major fuel spills, entrapment, water rescue, floods and providing humanitarian assistance when required.
