About

My career focus has been to understand why people develop diseases, and what we can do to cure or prevent this. As an immunologist it comes natural to think about prevention and cure as two equally valuable approaches to human health. I started out in the biotech business, focusing on antibody and protein therapies mainly against different forms of cancer. During the last 12 years I have split my time between developing large and small molecule therapies against different pulmonary diseases such as asthma and COPD at AstraZeneca/MedImmune. All this time the main focus has been to understand human health and disease through integrated use of in vitro and in vivo models and linking back to patient data. Today we call this Translational Medicine, and that's what I plan to continue devoting my efforts to in the future. Specialties: Immunology, Asthma, COPD, antibody therapy, drug development, biomarkers, flow cytometry. Project leadership, people development
