I provided support for national, high profile research teams at the Audit Commission, and PA support for the Director of Studies and Knowledge. This role included: • support for medium and long term project planning, including setting meetings for project boards and external advisory groups and making arrangements for all governance and senior sign off procedures with Audit Commission Chairman, Board and Chief Executive; • day to day diary management for the Director, Heads of Studies and Senior Managers, as well as rapid problem solving, risk management and juggling competing priorities; • making travel arrangements for senior staff and research teams, including rail, hotel and hire car bookings for meetings and fieldwork across the UK; and • arranging fieldwork in local public bodies across England, including setting up programmes for each visit and arranging interviews with senior staff, as well as providing support at the fieldwork sites.
• PA to a District Auditor, who had overall responsibility for local public audit across the Midlands. Key responsibilities included diary management, first point of contact for all internal and external communications and liaison with Directors of Finance and Chief Executives at audited bodies. • I provided administrative support to Audit Managers responsible to the District Auditor, including off site support at client venues when necessary.
• Management of a new Regional Conference Centre, which included setting up and maintenance of an effective room booking system, arranging catering and providing a range of administrative support. I designed an evaluation form and process from which I received excellent feedback on the effectiveness of logistical arrangements. • Lead administrator and first port of call for the Business Development Team, including identifying and successfully securing delegates for a range of regional events.
• Led a team of receptionists at a busy, four star Midlands hotel. Ensuring all guests received high levels of customer service and that all shifts were covered. Responsibilities included accounting, banking cash, allocating rooms, problem solving and coaching new staff.
