I'm a writer, speaker, and emerging family advocate in the addiction and recovery field. My work on resilience has been featured in The New York Times, Healthline, Psych Central, This American Life and in numerous literary journals, most recently Anti-heroin Chic. I am currently revising a creative nonfiction manuscript, "Above Us Only Sky: Beyond my Addiction to my Daughter's Addiction" through which I hope to offer solace and hope to other struggling parents. Having found strength in communities like Al-anon and mindfulness groups, I believe it is never too late to recover one's courage and voice. To learn more about how I can contribute as an advocate, I will begin Georgetown University's M.S. program in Addiction Policy and Practice this July.
