I hold Professional Youth Worker status, with a JNC recognised post graduate diploma in youth and community work. With over 30 years of experience of delivery and project management, I can enable people and projects to actualise their potential, achieved by recognising strengths and developing these through training and celebrating achievement. I find workable and innovative solutions to challenges and work in partnership with other organisations to maximise provision delivery and effectiveness. I have strong communications skills, can adapt delivery to the target audience and strongly believe in the importance of enabling people to discover their ability to learn and achieve their potential. Often incorporating nature connection, woodland management, bushcraft and mindfulness based activities in my delivery, I strive to remove barriers to nature and green space for all. In my spare time I enjoy wild camping, traditional coiled basket making, natural dyeing, foraging and crochet.
Development and facilitation of informal educational activities for young people aged 11 - 17 in Wembury.
Support individual project managers and their staff teams to provide quality volunteer opportunities within the charitable organisation. Develop new volunteer opportunities and projects building on strengths and skills of paid and volunteer staff that support the charities aims. Production of policies and procedures for working with volunteers. Practical problem solving, service development and strategic planning. Management of volunteer furniture re-use retail project , waste reduction and recycling.
Assisting with events at Wembury Marine Centre for primary and secondary schools, corporate teams and the general public, including; Rock pool rambles, stream dipping and guided walks Illustrated school talks Volunteer Co-ordinator Assisting with wider DWT events, including Plymouth wildlife festival, nest box making, bush craft and green woodworking skills, shore life surveys, coppicing and bat counts.
