I am supporting 2 projects in the production and biophysical characterization of their respective targets: 1) Characterization of neutralizing antibodies against Human Parainfluenza Virus 2) Grafting anti-murine VHH epitope onto human antibodies to attenuate On-Target Off-Tumor Toxicity
Performed brain digest protocols, flow cytometry, and snATAC sequencing in order to enrich microglia cell population within frozen human brain samples that have CHIP/NO CHIP.

As a Pharmacy Technician, I help in pick-up where I input the customers information and give them their medication. I also pull medicine out of the waiting bins in case medication has gone past the two weeks deadline where I would then have to restock them (RTS). I also perform Triage Queue (QT) where electronic prescriptions from doctors are sent and then checked by us to see if we have it in stock so then we can fill the medication. I also do drop-off where patients can come to check in for vaccine appointment, make a correction to their profile or update their insurance.
I was able to shadow Dr. Tsai, an acupuncturist, Monique, a massage therapist, and Dr. Rod, a chiropractor, and do research on Atrial Fibrillation. I was able to perform front office and back office duties like medical assistant work such as walking the patient to their room, checking their vitals, monitoring their blood pressure, and increasing my interpersonal skills with the patients. I would also clean the room and make sure the patient was at ease when they had left the clinic. I helped Dr. Tsai by handing him the needles and an alcohol wipe to put on the patient. With Monique, I learned lectures on human anatomy and and how to stretch patients, including the neck, leg, and arm muscles in which I then performed on patients. The big scope of my time at the internship was researching on Atrial Fibrillation, a type of cardiac arrhythmia which occurs in individuals that have an irregular and rapid heartbeat. I held a presentation explaining the symptoms, heart anatomy, electrocardiogram, diagnosis, and treatments due to my interests being in cardiology and the different types of arrhythmias.
