BFIEC was established in 2006. The federation represents the interest of the energy intensive industries in Bulgaria from various sectors including: chemical industry, metallurgy, glass industry, cement and paper industry, mining and production of technical gases and others. BFIEC members account for more than 60% of the industrial consumption of natural gas and about 70% of the industrial electricity consumption in Bulgaria.
