Dr. Khalid Alnowaiser is Founder and Chairman of Alnowaiser Group, where his focus is the governance of artificial intelligence: how boards, chairmen and business families in Saudi Arabia can capture the value of AI while keeping accountability, ethics and compliance in human hands. His perspective on AI governance rests on more than three decades of advising boards, founders, family enterprises, government entities and financial institutions on governance, decision making and accountability. Having followed the development of artificial intelligence for more than eight years, he treats AI as a question every board must now answer: which decisions AI may inform, which it may make, and who remains accountable. His current work and writing address board oversight of AI; AI risk and ethics in line with Saudi frameworks, including the SDAIA AI Ethics Principles and the Personal Data Protection Law; AI strategy that serves long term institutional value; and the legal questions AI raises for directors. Through Alnowaiser Group, he is building a dedicated practice in AI strategy, governance and transformation. He has long worked alongside Saudi business families on governance, succession, family constitutions, family councils and family offices, with particular attention to how family enterprises can adopt AI without weakening the governance that holds them together across generations. He founded Alnowaiser Law Firm & Partners, which has advised local and international clients for more than thirty years. From 2021 to 2024 he served as a Member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also Founder and Chairman of Nafsiyati, the Association for the Promotion of Psychological and Behavioral Health, and the author of more than 200 published articles. He holds a Ph.D. in Law, two LL.M. degrees in Commercial Law and a Master in Economics.
