Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Workman, and I am currently working at West Virginia Northern Community College as an Academic Advisor. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Wheeling University in 2018, and later received a Master of Business Administration degree from Wheeling University while working in the Sports Information department.
Connecting and building relationships with clients by managing requests, schedules, care of animals, and payments in a respectful and timely manner.
Managing all aspects of animal welfare relating to enrichment development and implementation, positive reinforcement-based operant conditioning, nutrition, and record keeping. In addition, creating and implementing engaging and interactive experiences relating to the zoo’s animal collection for on-site and off-site audiences taking part in educational programs. This is done while overseeing and mentoring apprentices, interns, and docents.
Made positive connections with guest while providing styling and product assistance in person and over the phone. Used various means to place sale orders, book appointments, and inventory merchandise. Occasionally transported and assembled equipment at events while interacting with potential clients and models.
Collaborated with the sports information director to serve as a public relations specialist for the university’s athletic department. Utilized equipment and computer software to live stream video, compile statistics, write articles, and update the school's athletics website and social media accounts.
