Dynamic and Experienced Electrical/Control System Specialist/Designer with 28+ years of delivering comprehensive electrical engineering solutions across onshore and offshore oil & gas projects (brownfield and greenfield), mines and minerals infrastructure, airport systems, railway transit maintenance, and power generation facilities. Note: Unrestricted to work in Canada. Core Competencies: Proficiency in Electrical Design Software AutoCAD MicroStation 3D modeling (PDS/PDMS/BRCM/SP3D) SPEL (Smart Plant Electrical) Navisworks OR Smart Plant Review (SPR) for clash detection and model reviews 3D Modeling Expertise Ability to create 3D models of electrical components, including panels, conduits, cable trays, and lighting systems Experience in integrating electrical models with architectural, mechanical, piping and civil/structural models 2. Design and Drafting Skills Development of detailed electrical design drawings, including: Single-line diagrams (SLDs) Wiring diagrams Cable routing through tray/conduits/trenches/ducts layouts Generation of schematics, layout drawings, and panel schedules Preparation of substation layouts and power distribution diagrams 3. Design and Draft Electrical Heat Trace Systems Drafting experience with comprehensive annotation and dimensioning of electrical drawings Cable management systems design in complex projects 4. Engineering Knowledge Understanding of electrical codes and standards (e.g., CEC, NEC, IEC) Knowledge of load calculations. Design of lighting systems, grounding, and earthing Expertise in power distribution networks and control systems Experience in hazardous area classification and design for explosion-proof equipment 5. Data and Document Management Ability to manage and update Bill of Materials (BOM) Document control skills for managing multiple design versions 6. Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking Troubleshooting design conflicts and providing engineering solutions Clash detection and resolution within multi-discipline 3D environments 7. Collaboration and Communication Coordinating with mechanical, piping, process, civil/strcutural, and architectural teams to integrate designs Effective communication with clients, vendors, and project managers Providing technical support during construction phases 8.
